Integrity.  Respect.  Transparency.  Excellence.  These values must be more than words - they must be reflected in how CUSD leads, communicates, and makes decisions. It's time to move beyond the “us vs. them” dynamic that has too often divided district leadership and our community. Rebuilding trust starts with mutual respect, genuine dialogue, transparency, and the recognition that we are all here for the same reason: our students.

Strong schools start with open communication. Parents and teachers should have meaningful opportunities to be heard, and district decisions should be communicated clearly and transparently. By welcoming feedback and identifying concerns early, we can address problems before they become crises. I also want to encourage more parents and community members to see themselves as future board leaders and support trustee term limits to ensure CUSD continues to benefit from fresh perspectives and new ideas.

Strengthening every CUSD school. We are losing students at several of our schools. Separately, several of our schools need more support to propel students towards improving education. These are both real crises. With strong leadership, community partnership, and a commitment to excellence, we can strengthen our schools and rebuild confidence across the district.
