In 2024, Forest Hill lost 47 students, an 8% decline in a single year. My family was among them. I felt helpless that the administration did not hear our voices. I watched as the school board failed to hold the district accountable for management mis-steps.

We felt we had no choice but to find another school. We were fortunate to have this option. I am running because several families won't. I am running because I want to make sure that the administration and the community work cohesively. I am running because I can apply my leadership experience running large corporate organizations and the PTA to help resolve what's broken in our district.

As a Director of Engineering at Netflix, I led large teams for a decade in a values-driven manner. I served in the PTA for four years, and two as the president. That was right after COVID, where we restored community engagement, improved fiscal transparency, and simplified processes at the grassroots level. I left Netflix and co-founded a technology startup called OKhuman to erect guardrails for good AI use in colleges. I bring this leadership and innovation experience to the board to strengthen accountability, rebuild trust, and make sure families are heard.

I am deeply honored that our local teachers have chosen to endorse my candidacy, even in a race that includes a fellow educator. Their confidence in my leadership and vision for CUSD is incredibly meaningful and I'm grateful to have their support.

I chose not to seek a political party endorsement because I believe serving on the school board should remain un-partisan. Our children benefit when we work across differences, listen to every voice and put the needs of the community ahead.
